Children are admitted to the Reception Class in the September following their 4th birthday.
The school works very closely with Sutton St James Pre-School Play Group where the majority of the intake each year arrives from. It is a fantastic playgroup which has recently been inspected by Ofsted and received a 'good' grading. Children who attend the playgroup have the opportunity to come over into school three times each year on our Shared Curriculum mornings, when they work in Wrens classroom alongside the Reception children and staff. These mornings are thoroughly enjoyed and help to ease the transition into school for the children.
The Playgroup Committee work tirelessly to maintain the building and provide the best opportunities for the children that they can. They work with staff in school to ensure consistency and accuracy of assessment.
The playgroup operates Monday to Friday, morning and afternoon sessions. The playgroup provides places for children from the age of 2 upwards.
