Claire Willows – Headteacher and part time class teacher in Swallows
I have strong links to Sutton St James School because this was my own primary school so I have many happy memories of the school when I was a child. I returned to Sutton St James School to gain an NVQ 3 before heading off to University in Nottingham. In 2000 I started my teaching career at a large school in Spalding, progressing to become Deputy Head. In 2014, the opportunity arose for me to be Head of School here and a year later I was privileged to become Headteacher.
Working in a small school is an honour and an absolute pleasure. The entire team of staff amaze me on a daily basis with their dedication to their jobs and to the children. Working closely with parents helps the school to have a real community feel which is often felt and praised by visitors to the school.
My passions are reading and travelling, and during the school holidays I try to explore a new destination and spend time relaxing getting lost in a good book!
