I have been teaching for almost 10 years at Sutton St James within multiple year groups ranging from year 1 up to year 5 and throughout that time, I can say that I have never taught two children who were the same. I value the individuality and creativity of each child and understand that every child is unique. Each year brings new and different challenges and I look forward to seeing what challenges lie ahead. Working in a small school also allows me to get to know each individual child much better and helps me to cater my teaching to support the needs of each child.
Outside of school, I enjoy keeping myself busy with home improvement, trying to learn new skills to be able to complete DIY myself and become more handy. I am married with two adorable children and they also keep me very busy. We also recently added chickens to our home, the children enjoy checking each day to see if we have any new eggs. I enjoy the outdoors and can more often be seen in the garden with the children.
At Sutton St James we are a small team and so we are able to work closer to ensure that our children are supported as they progress throughout school, it has been amazing to see and support children from reception all the way through to year 6 and beyond!
