Homework suggestion:

Please visit the Topmarks site and play hit the button with multiplication tables.  Please start with the 2 x tables and 5 x tables. These need to be becoming secure. Once these are speedily recalled, your child can move on to the 3 x tables. BUT…there is no point moving on until the 2x and 5x are embedded.  We are all about building strong foundations before moving on, following the mathematical mastery ideology we are developing in our school.

This online game is a very good tool to help secure their multiplication skills.

  1. 10x  (easiest)
  2. 2 x
  3. 5x
  4. 3x only if secure with others

By choosing the hit the question side of this game, you are asking them to consider the inverse of multiplication which is division. That aspect can be a handy extension to try too. Actually, why not have a go yourself?

We read to support out writing. Searching for the different features in texts; we also locate new facts to use in our writing. This week, we were reading about birds with partners. For the teachers, it was a pleasure to watch and join in with.

Here is a bit of an update for you regarding Homework and Reading.

We shall collect Reading Records in on a Thursday for updating our home learning reward sheets. Reading must be recorded in an ongoing manner, and no job lots in the last couple of weeks are allowed.

We ask for homework to kindly be handed in on Tuesdays, but it must be handed in by Wednesday at the absolute latest. Homework handed in late will not be marked or recorded, unless there has been an absence from school.

Our Fire Engine Visit. This helped embed the learning about safety we have been doing in class. Thank You Mrs Whittaker for organising this for us. It was great!

Our science day was directly linked to our class learning about healthy human bodies. We did so many things and we hope you enjoy trying to work out what those things were and why!
