Welcome to Swallows' class page. Here you will find information about the learning we have been completing and sharing some of our favourite activities. We are lucky to work with lots of adults across the week who help us.

Key days: In term 1 we go swimming on Thursdays,

We have PE on Tuesday and Friday,

Topic Overview

Check the topic overview below to see an overview of our learning this term.

If you missed the parent's meet and greet, check the key information below.

Pointillism Pictures

Swallows have been thinking about different styles of painting. This week we looked at examples of famous painting that use pointillism, a 19th century technique originating in France. We applied this technique to our topic to create pictures of people leaving their fiery houses using only dots.

Art in Nature

This week in Art we have been on a hunt to see what natural resources we could find around our school that we could use in our artwork. We have been thinking about using unconventional materials to create art. Together we took pictures of our findings and we learned how to create a collage, take a screenshot and AirDrop pictures all using our iPads.

The Great Fire of London!

We started our first topic with a focus on key facts, using Art and Music to help us. We created tissue paper pictures to represent the great fire. These are on display in the classroom to help us feel pride in our work.

ICT - Purple Mash

In Swallows we have been using our ICT purposefully to create pictures of the great fire of London in an impressionist style.

The Selfish Crocodile

We have been reading The Selfish Crocodile in class this week. We have focussed on the importance of being kind, behaving with others as you want them to behave with you.
We then thought about gratitude. Who are you grateful for and why?
If you don't have the book you can watch it below.

Please ensure that your child has their PE kit in school every day ready for PE lessons. Thank you
