Owls

Academic Year 2025-2026

Welcome to our class page!

We are a happy class of learners who enjoy exploring, discussing and developing in all areas.

Our overarching topic changes at the start of each big term, which means we have three each year.

Teachers :

Mrs Peck - Monday to Thursday.

Mrs Harwood and Mrs Turner - Friday.

Support staff :

Every day Mrs Borland, Miss Sunasse, Miss Viggers and Mrs Harwood work hard in our class supporting learners, focusing on those with Special Educational Needs.

Mrs Kettringham, Mrs Pentney, Mrs Turner, Mrs Harwood and Mrs Coupland join us for some time each week supporting the children in their learning, including those with SEN.

Our PE days are Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Karl teaches music on a Monday.

Mrs Peck has PPA on a Tuesday afternoon - this is covered by Mrs Harwood.

Hand in Homework by Tuesday in order to be marked.

Spelling tests on Wednesdays.

Homework out on Thursdays.

Term 1 and 2 topic

Our First Wow day for the topic Fentastic was a huge success. The children painted, built, acted, shared and took part in some activities focused on famous figures from the Fens!

DT: Soup, and Apple Stew making!

We learnt so many cookery skills, with the added bonus of delicious healthy food to eat after.

We enjoyed preparing and serving our adults, after inviting them in for an afternoon. They were allowed to join us on the condition that they would give an honest evaluation of our cookery.

Our Science topic for terms 1 and 2 was all about Plants gave us many opportunities to conduct investigations and follow enquiries.

Science: Light Term 3 & 4

Numbers Day

On Numbers Day we had great fun coming to school dressed in non-uniform, but with a link to numbers. More importantly, we had great fun doing lots of different activities and games during the day that were linked to numbers and number investigations.

Spring / Easter Celebration

As part of our English curriculum and to entertain and perform for our parents, we had great fun learning the traditional song 'All things Bright and Beautiful', which we worked together to perform in a spoken, poetic way, inviting parents to join in if they could remember the words from their time at school.  We all enjoyed performing, as you can see from our faces!

Open Days

It was great to welcome parents into our classroom for Open Day sessions. We would love to show you the work that we are doing and for you to help us with this. Please do try to come along whenever the next one is – we would love to see you in our classroom and show you what we are doing!

World Book Day 2006

On World Book Day we all enjoyed hearing the brilliant RAP performed by the Reading Ambassadors, which has inspired us to read more! We also enjoyed snuggling up with a book in front of the fire!
